Born in Newark New Jersey in 1938, Tice trained as a photographer in the Navy and worked in portrait photography until his interest shifted to the urban landscape. Tice is a virtuoso fine art printer. His work is held in the collections of the Museum of Modern Art, the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Art institute of Chicago.
